You can find a lot of amazing information about your web site and how it is viewed with just a few simple tools. Your hosting provider should have a statistics package that details information about traffic to your site - it's all in the server logs. You can learn when they visit (day of the week, time of day, by month and by year); page they visited first and the last page they viewed before they went to another site; how long they viewed your site; what terms they used in a search engine to find your site and the site they visited before coming to yours. The last 2 (search terms and referring site) will tell you a lot about what kind of a connection they are hoping to find. Are those what you expected them to be? Did they find what they were looking for? Go through your search terms and referrers list at least once a month and compare them with your mission statement - how well are you communicating?

Up until this point, we have been developing the plan for your web site, now we need to starting building and we need some tools.
  • Your site statistics will give you feedback on how well you are hitting your target
  • A simple content module for XOOPS allows you to build pages with connection information - where to find you, who to call, times you gather and what you offer
That's it! Now use your finely crafted information to provide your visitors with the answers to their questions.
