ImpressCMS 1.2.7 and 1.3.1 - New Stable (Final) Releases

ImpressCMS (www.impresscms.org) has published stable releases for both branches of ImpressCMSÂ - the 1.2Â LTSÂ branch (for long term support) and the 1.3 branch -Â suitable for use on live sites.

Everyone is advised to update to one of these latest versions - they contain security updates that will protect your sites from malicious attacks.

ImpressCMS Delivers New Version: 1.3 Final

The developers of ImpressCMS (www.impresscms.org) have produced a major update and have released version 1.3 as a stable version, ready for live websites. This release is a major revamp of the underlying code, designed to be faster, smaller and better. This also continues to keep pace with the developments in other open source tools - ImpressCMS 1.3 is fully compatible with PHP 5.3 and MySQL 5.2 and above.

Version 1.3 is a transitional release for ImpressCMS, as it is the leading towards the removal of a majority of legacy functions. Most of the modules and themes currently supported by earlier versions of ImpressCMS do work in the new version and that was a major consideration in this release. But, not all modules will be able to make the leap. You are well advised to do some testing before you apply this upgrade. There are some new messages in the developer debug area to assist with the transition.

Maintenance Release: ImpressCMS 1.2.6 Final

The ImpressCMSÂ Project (www.impresscms.org) has released an updated version of their community management system - version 1.2.6. This was a minor update, addressing an issue with the included content module and TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor. This update also is fully compatible when being run on MySQL 5.2 or higher.

This will most likely be the last release in the 1.2 series for ImpressCMS, as the next release, version 1.3 is nearing its final stages.

Module Update: Impression 1.02 Final is Released

A release addressing a bug fix and adding a few new features has been published for Impression, a module for ImpressCMS by McDonald. The spotlight block now displays categories properly.

In addition, the following features have been added:

captcha in submit form
option to have categories displayed in blocks
a 'bytes more' option for the footer

The 'bytes more' option will indicate the length of the remaining text when viewing the index (summary) page. You can select to display nothing, the bytes remaining, characters remaining, or words remaining.

Module Update: imLinks v1.05 Final Released

In an update to a widely used module, McDonald (a module developer for ImpressCMS), has released a stable version of imLinks 1.05

. imLinks has a long history, having the old XOOPSÂ module, WF-Links, as its ancestor. This latest update fixes a few bugs and replaces the Multimap option with Bing Maps. This version of imLinks requires ImpressCMS 1.2, or later. It will not work on XOOPS.
