I am pretty sure that my host service is not up to date enough to install Impress.

I am going to install Apache locally. that will at least enable me to learn the program. I was able to instal on my machine and connect to the db on my host but it failed with a fast cgi script. It was almost completed!

Thanks for your time in helping me.

Nope. Just the one line across the top of a white page.

Here is the line in the code:

159: <?php echo FILE_PERMISSIONS; ?>

Would you like me to pm you with the actual url, so you can see what it's doing?

As far as I know this is what the web server uses:

"Witness Today offers only Windows® Server 2003 platforms running Microsoft® IIS."

I also have MySQL5 and php support.

I am not sure but could be that it may expecting something from the server side? an SSI possibly?

I can't modify the permissions in the data base, all I can do is create it.

I have other progs running that seem to work fine so I am not sure about this issue, I haven't run into it with the others.

What is a "constant" in a php line anyway? I can't seem to find that answer anywhere.

Thanks for your help, I know this site seems to be geared for more experienced folks. Perhaps the Lord is training me for something, I don't know. I have spent weeks wading through all kinds of progs and script language info to do more than just a static brochure site.

Trying to install ImpressCMS 1.2.6

But moving to page 3of the install I get this:

PHP Notice: Use of undefined constant FILE_PERMISSIONS - assumed 'FILE_PERMISSIONS' in H:\Domains\soso.someone.org\wwwroot\imp\install\page_modcheck.php on line 159

Can someone PLEASE tell how to fix this?

The server is a windows based sever with MySQL5, php5, and also has an MS SQL if I should choose to use it. I also have Pearl support but have never even attemted that one.

I did read Skenow's reply to another guy about this same thing at the ICMS Forums, But mine will not get beyond this. It is an all white page with just that line on it.

php seems to work great with the latest version of phpBB, and Con5, and others I have tried (Joomla!, ocPortal). I am not very happy with Con5 though.

Thanks!

Hello Brother Steve. I really appreciate what you have done here. I need it! I have been given the task of rebuilding/ re-establishing our church web site and honestly I know very little about it. I can't even get basic html right.

Our church is small and in a small country town so having something to offer for content in a site for us is a little thin. I have spent the past several weeks looking at/ trying out various CMS packages, so far I am not too thrilled at what I have discovered. All offer all this great ease of use for the novice but are not really much better than free css templates. i.e. concrete 5.

I use a free unlimited Christian host you should ad to your site, Witnesstoday.org unlimited band width etc. Paul Hester does a great service for no charge. That alone makes me WANT to donate!

Your articles are every insightful. Perhaps the Lord led me here? hmmm...

God Bless, we will be praying por your ministry.
