As we are nearing the final stages for ImpressCMS 1.3, it's about time to have a look ahead to the next stage of life for the project. These last 18 months of work on the core have gone on quite a bit more than I ever anticipated - it seems that Smaller! Faster! Better! was bigger and took longer to get better. But, now we are here - where do we go next?

All along, ImpressCMS has been using phrases like "Open source, open development, open philosohpy and open community." We made some amazing progress during our early years because we believed in phrases like that. I still believe in phrases like that and I believe we still have a lot of amazing things ahead of us, we just need to focus on our vision and our passions. As I've been around the forums and digging through code, there's always 1 thing that keeps coming to mind, over and over again - Lower the Barriers!"
