This popular US game show turned the tables on the contestants, giving them the answers and they, in turn, needed to provide the questions. When contestants did not respond with a question, they were reminded to "please phrase that in the form of a question".
What is Jeopardy!?
A major part of your online strategy is being able to ask the right questions before you attempt to answer them. A fair number of Jeopardy! contestants jumped the buzzer and blurted out the question before hearing the complete answer, only to miss an important detail.
Do you know what questions are leading to your website? What are the answers they are seeking? How do you find out?
The answers vary, depending on the question, the asker and the responder. The questions vary, depending on who is asking them. If they are familiar with the Gospel, they might ask "What churches are near me?" If they are unfamiliar with the church, they might ask "Where will I find food to feed my family?", or "Where will I sleep tonight?" (Matthew 25:35-36).
Questions will always have a context - where are you (physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually)? Questions come at all hours of the day and night. Responses come during office hours - not always convenient. If no one reads your posts, perhaps you're not answering the right questions. Or, you haven't done a very good job of connecting with the people with questions.
God searches for us (Gen 3:9). Are we searching for others on his behalf? Are we discoverable? Do we know what the questions are?
As we ask ourselves these questions, let us also ask them of our church websites and online presence. Look at your church website and tell us whose questions get answered and which ones go unanswered.
Think of this as Searcher Optimization, rather than Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
